Kate spade is making an entry in the activewear accessories category with the launch of a new sports smartwatch collection.
Kate Spade New York announces the launch of its newest touch screen smartwatch. The Sport Smartwatch is powered with Wear OS by Google and the Qualcomm® Snapdragon Wear™ 3100 platforms. It is available in three colourways: black with lilac accents, pink and red with a bronzed finish, and evergreen with a bronzed finish.
The watch has a gym friendly design with silicon straps to repulse the sweat. Regardless of colours, the Sport Smartwatch has a finish that fits in with previous scalloped models. It’s got two buttons to one side of the watch face, one of which is dedicated to launching a face-swapping app for on the fly style switches.
Other design features include; a glass fibre reinforced resin colour-pop case; and a pink enamel pusher that allows the wearer to access a customized digital dial through Kate Spade’s ‘choose your look’ micro app.
“Our customer is adventurous—she loves all kinds of activities and is always looking for accessories that fit into her everyday life,” said Nicola Glass, Kate Spade’s creative director.
Other functionality includes:
- Heart Rate Tracking
- Untethered GPS
- Proactive Help From the Google Assistant
- Music
- Google Pay™
- Weather
- Training Apps
- Swim Proof
From running and biking to dancing (and everything in between), the Sport Smartwatch uses Google Fit™ to track activities throughout the day. It’s a bit of a mash-up of Gen 5 and Gen 4 features, which seems to be a trend for Wear smartwatches being launched by the Fossil Group at the moment.
The Kate Spade Sport Smartwatch is available now from the Kate Spade website and costs $275.
