How to make chicory coffee

  • Grilled chicory– Cut the roots into pieces and coat with olive oil. Set the chicory heads on the grill and cook for about 10 minutes. Drizzle some lemon juice and have it directly without any sides.
  • Chicory coffee– Slice the roots and roast them in the oven until they turn brown and dry. Grind the roasted roots in a food processor to a similar consistency like coffee. Brew the roots with or without coffee, as per your preference. Take 1 tablespoon ground roasted chicory and mix with hot water.
  • Steamed chicory roots– steam the roots and chicory leaves in a basket for about 5 minutes. Add it to your salads, pasta or macaroni.
