Building muscle is a tedious task because so many factors are involved. Your body has to produce enough energy for muscles to use in order to grow. You must consume a high protein diet. You must do all this in conjunction with high-intensity workouts. Often times, the body gets too tired to exercise at a consistent pace and perform optimally during intense strength training. However, hcg bodybuilding can be a gamechanger if you utilize it correctly.

What Is HCG?

HCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin. It’s a hormone that naturally occurs in the body. In fact, it’s really prominent in pregnant women to nourish their unborn babies. It’s also integral in helping the body produce more hormones. Because of this, HCG can help correct hormone deficiencies and imbalances that are often a cause of weight gain or a result of a long steroid cycle. Therefore, HCG can be effective for achieving weight loss and thus, giving the body more room to build lean muscle.

The HCG Diet

The HCG diet involves consuming 500 calories a day, which is a low enough amount to promote weight loss. This means that the body will burn fat, rather than muscle, for fuel.

The diet consists of two phases – the first phase and the second phase. The first stage of the diet isn’t mandatory. However, it’s recommended for the best results. It involves consuming as many high-fat, high-calorie foods as possible to “prime” your body for the diet. This is thought to increase your body’s ability to burn fat as it works hard to metabolize the excess calories. In order words, this stage helps your body “practice” burning calories at a fast rate.

With a jump start on results, you start the second phase of the diet plan. This is where you may or may not choose to get the HCG injections to boost results. This is also where you’ll start to significantly increase your calorie intake to 500 a day for eight weeks. For the duration of the diet, you’re to consume two meals a day – breakfast and dinner. For each meal, you’re allowed one protein, one vegetable, one starch and one fruit. You can only have one tablespoon of milk per day, so it would be a good idea to put it in your tea or coffee for the morning. While on the diet, you’re encouraged to drink as much water as possible in order to adequately hydrate your body and flush out toxins.

Foods you must avoid on the HCG diet include:

  • Butter and oils
  • Fatty fish like salmon, tuna and herring
  • Added sugars (can use sugar substitutes)
  • Anything high in carbs

By getting HCG injections and following a low-calorie diet, you can burn that extra layer of fat over your muscles, which will give them a more defined look. Plus, at the end of your steroid cycle, you can restore any hormonal imbalance you might be experiencing.

HCG may not be your first choice when it comes to bodybuilding, but give it a try and see if it works for you.
