Story

Martin confirmed in march 2021 that this time he has come up with a story that will surely take the readers to the farthest point in the north than any of the earlier novels in the series. The previous one of the sequel “A Dance with Dragons” conveyed a lot less than what Martin wished to, yet it disclosed the chances of one intended large war sequence in the next novel, “The wind of winter.”

With this novel, Martin also has plans to resolve the threads of various characters that he had left in cliffhangers in the previous one. In April 2011, a brief while before the release of “A Dance with Dragons,” martin stated that he hoped the last two books of the series would come out faster than The Winds of Winter, and it would take approximately three years to complete this one at a good speed. By October in 2012, martin had completed 400 pages of the sixth narrative of the award-winning series but confirmed only the first 200 pages to be complete, and the rest 200 were in revision. Then in April 2013, Martin confirmed that he had completed one-third of the book and announced the possible release date. But the date was shifted because the writer could not finish the novel. 

In 2016 martin confirmed that he had not been able to complete the novel and had missed the end of year deadline before the release of Game of Thrones Season 6. He stated at that time that the book was still far from completion.

Martin predicted the book’s release in 2017, but again he stated that he was months away from the book’s completion and indicated that the book would not come out until later in 2018.

In April 2018, the writer confirmed that the book is based on the history Targaryen clan, that is, Fire and blood would come out before the winds of winter.

In October 2019, martin expressed that he would be able to complete the novel Winds of Winter very soon in the coming future. Still, after announcing the coming of a prequel to Game of Thrones, “The House of Dragon,” martin again stated that there was still a lot to be done on the book, and it was very far from completion.

Many release dates have been shifted to complete this book, but now the sources have finally confirmed the Winds of the Winter release date; it will be released on November 13, 2023. This has left the fans very excited and thrilled
